Due to the title, I honestly thought about just posting the lyrics to the Jay-Z song, Public Service Announcement, and then, I thought about the title "Allow me to introduce myself" since I have so many new followers, but then the song Humpty Dance popped into my head, and I knew I needed to quit thinking about titles.
Undiagnosed ADD, Tell ya.
Anyways, I have been wanting to do a re-introduction of sorts, since I have so many new followers, but I didn't want to do the whole " My name is Tabitha & I like long walks on the beach, feminine things, puppies, mascara, and going mudding on a 4-wheeler." Sure, that is a short description of me, but it's not what is interesting. Back in May, Emelia posted a cute little re-introduction post and then at the beginning of June, Nikki's borrowed the idea. I loved the idea of the post, so today, I am borrowing the idea, changing up some questions, and re-introducing the voice behind a hundred tiny wishes.
First of all, I'm Tabitha, and here's a little run down of the people I may talk about:
I have been the author behind this little piece of the interwebs since September '13... yeah, that's almost three years now! I published my first post a few days before Lil Man turned three. The post, which was my 30 by 30 list, was a work in progress- and still is. It's just developed into a 35 by 35.
You can find out why I blog here, and then why I started blogging here, but just in case you don't feel like reading those- I turned 30 in December 2105, live in Northwest Indiana & I'm a country girl of sorts. I have been married for 6.5 years, and we have Lil Man, Ellie, a cat named Schizo, and a Russian tortoise named Yager. I have a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, but currently, I am working part-time for a non-profit supervising supervised visitation and tutoring my son for Kindergarten in the fall.
I have depression & I am raising a son with ADHD. You wouldn't think it, but I have six tattoos. I also have a "dry" sense of humor and in being honest, I love walking on the beach because of the exfoliation of my feet. I have simple tastes. I love my lil family. I love being a mom and a wife. I love photography. I love my DVR. I love to read and write. I have an obsession with arrows, ampersands, and pumpkin everything. I also love puppies, wine, flowers (esp peonies), feminine colors, and 4-wheeling; & I never leave the house without mascara on. I believe that things happen for a reason, therefor you should have no regrets. I believe in true love and soul mates & it doesn't take alot to make me happy :)
& now on to questions from Nikki & Emelia's posts.
Do you like your first name and why? If not, what would you change it to?
Honestly, I didn't at first- the main reason is that it is so unique that I can't find a darn key chain with my name; but after awhile, I realized that I loved the uniqueness of it. I love that I can walk into a room, and there is a good chance that I will be the only Tabitha in there.
If you could give yourself one gift, what would it be?
A money tree? Oh wait, a practical gift... time management skills or the ability to just be in the moment.
Would you rather be the person asking the questions in a conversation or the person answering them?
The person asking. I never know how to actually answer, and I get embarrassed.
If you had to live in a place where only one season existed year-round, what would that season be?
Fall, hands down. I love that it's not too cold and not too warm. I love the smells & the fact that I don't sweat my ass off. I really would love to find a state that feels like Fall year 'round, cause I would so move there.
Where was the last place you traveled to?
Washington, DC (by myself) to see my bestie, and before that was to Tennessee & Ohio with the fam for vacay.
DC |
Sunset in the Smokies (TN) |
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three materialistic things you'd want with you?
They had to say "materialistic", huh? No practicality here... anyways, my survival knife (I bought it from Harbor Freight for under $10), a book, and a brush.
When was the last time you tried something new, and what was it?
I'm always down for trying new things, but recently it was Humus. I had never had the stuff, and everyone recommended it. I tried a little one with pretzels & was hooked.
If you knew you could not fail, what is the one thing you would do tomorrow?
Write a book. I love writing, and I have always wanted to be a published author.
What is your earliest memory?
Going to a fair or carnival & riding the sizzler when I was around 4 or five.
If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fruit.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Play with puppies (like I would open a dog rescue and play with the unloved dogs), blog, and write a book.
I hope that y'all enjoyed getting to know me, and I want to thank you for reading/following me & this blog.
