I know there have been a lot of reviews of Birchbox’s newest limited edition boxes, but I decided that I wanted to get in on the action too. I mean, everyone looks at a product differently, right? And you can never get too many opinions, when trying to decide if you want to buy something.
Basically, I am going to tell you right now, I have grabbed only a couple of Birchbox’s limited edition boxes, but after today, you are going to want buy these boxes. Why? Because they give you the most bang for your buck.
“What the Oscars are to movies, the Cosmetics Executive Women (CEW) Insiders’ Choice Beauty Awards are to beauty. Each year, the organization gathers over 6,000 industry pros to highlight the year’s best and brightest” and they teamed with Birchbox to develop two different limited edition boxes for sale to the public. The boxes they offer are the Prestige Headliners and the Mass Appeal.
The Prestige Headliners box is centered around higher end, retail products that you would find at Sephora, Ulta, or through Birchbox itself, and the Mass Appeal box is centered around more affordable, but still amazing and everyday usable products that can be found at Target or Walmart.
Like I said before, the Prestige Headliners box is centered are more higher end, retail products, that you would find at Sephora or Ulta. The box includes 100% Pure Creamy Nail Polish in Jam; COOLA Environmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After-Sun Lotion; Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Crème; Josie Maran Cosmetics 100% Pure Argan Oil Light; Philosophy Miracle Worker Overnight; and a mini mirror & toe separators.
I really liked four out of the five products in this box, but my two favorite products were the Fekkai Creme and the Josie Maran Argan Light. The Fekkai Creme is simply amazing. It smells great, like most Fekkai products, and for me, it works as a "spot treatment" on dry hair for my frizzies. I am no stranger to the Josie Maran Argan Oil Light, in fact, I use it on my face after every shower. But the thing I love about it? It is exaclty like it's powerhouse of a sister- the regular Argan Oil- except in a lighter form- so you don't get all that greasiness. It works as a multi-tasker meaning that you can use it as a moisturizer, split-end meander, and a cuticle oil.

(In this section I will give you the size of the product, and what the item is worth compared to a full size)
100% Pure Creamy Nail Polish in Jam | Full Size bottle | $12.00
COOLA Environmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After-Sun Lotion | .5 fl oz | $2.67
Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Crème | 2 oz | $10
Josie Maran Cosmetics 100% Pure Argan Oil Light | .16 fl oz | Approx $5
Philosophy Miracle Worker Overnight | .4 fl oz | $13.60
I paid $18 for the box, and after calculations, the box was worth $43.27, plus they sent a mini mirror and toe separators.
Out of both boxes, the Mass Appeal box was by far my favorite. I love that you can literately buy everything at Target, and that it's all affordable. The box included: Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor; Dove Go Fresh Restore Body Wash; L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara; Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15; TRESemme Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Serum; and Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips.
I loved five of the six products, and use everything except the Simple moisturizer on an almost daily basis ( I already have a moisturizer that I love). The L'Oreal mascara really surprised me, because I didn't think that I would like it. It goes on super silky, and the brush coats each one of my lashes. I'm not ready to give up my Benefit BadGal lash, but Butterfly is becoming a close contender for favorite. The TRESemme serum is hands down my FAVORITE hair serum to date. I love the silkiness of my hair after I use it.
Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor | Full Size | $8.99
Dove Go Fresh Restore Body Wash | Travel Size | Approx $1
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara | Full Size | $6.89
Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 | Full Size | $9.99
TRESemme Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Serum | Full Size | $4.99
Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips | Full Size | $1.77
I paid $15 for the box, and after calculations, the box was worth $33.63.
As you can tell, I loved getting both boxes, and I don't regret my decision to buy them at all. And the nice thing? If you buy both together, Birchbox will give you $5 off. So instead of paying $33 for the boxes, you would only pay $28, and get over $75 in product. Yep, pretty amazing if you ask me.
