beauty review | tarte amazonian clay airbrush foundation

tarte amazonian clay airbrush foundation

there has been a lot of hype around tarte's amazonian clay line, and there is no wonder why. tarte says that the airbrush foundation is formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, synthetic fragrances and other icky stuff (my words) and it gives you a natural looking coverage that is waterproof and lasts for twelve hours. the foundations also come in a wide range of colors to suit almost every skin tone.

after reading all of the reviews, i decided to head to sephora and grab me a sample. well, let me tell you... as with almost all mineral foundations (which this is), you sorta need to buy the brush. the first time i tried it, i looked like a ghost, because i brushed it on like any other power with my large brush.

i looked horrible.

so i took to blogs and youtube, to figure out exactly how to use this miracle foundation, because let's be honest, i had never tried an actual mineral foundation before (yes, i'm referring to bare minerals), and the gals at sephora sure didn't tell me.

and i'm glad i did.

i found kate's review, which led me to the essie button review, and then i had my ah-ha moment.

apparently you have to buff the powder into your skin, and then as the day goes, your skin just becomes beautiful.

so, i went to ulta, and picked up the actual foundation in fair-light neutral, and the brush.

a couple of days later, i decided to put the waterproof, twelve hour coverage characteristic to work, and went to the zoo... all day...

in the before picture, i had just washed my face, put on a sunscreen lotion, and used some elf primer.

when i finished, i couldn't believe what i saw...

the results were just beautiful and the coverage was amazing

i mean, i didn't even feel like i was wearing foundation... and i'm a bb girl.

you know what? when i got home from the zoo, the only thing that ran was my mascara
(i don't wear waterproof).

basically, i'm in love, and i think that the foundation is definitely worth the price.

the brush on the other hand... it does it's job, but honestly, i think its a little over priced and i could have found something else to use.

oh, the only draw back.... i love the color and all, but i bought it before i started getting darker, so now my face looks seriously awesome, but is lighter than everything else.

but to fix this problem, qvc is coming to the rescue, because they convinced me that i need the
tarte bb tinted treatment 12-hour primer broad spectrum spf 30 sunscreen in light because it's summer...
and i can either grab it from qvc and get a brush too or sephora

choices, choices.

  1. You look fantastic!! I've been contemplating trying this foundation for a while now... From what I read the brush is key! Have you tried the new Bare Minerals foundation??
