happy cinco de mayo friends!!! guess what? i'm back!
did you miss me? no? didn't even notice i was gone? well boo to you!
sorry, just kidding. well, if you hadn't noticed, i missed my normal friday recap a couple of days ago due to an ever forgetful mind. you see, i actually did have a post about ninety percent of the way done for you guys, but i actually forgot to finish it... yeah...
anyways, if you follow me on instagram, you would have saw that i finally graduated this past weekend; and that was the reason for my absence. but i am here today to make up for it and tell you about it!
friday:
we left friday for angola, which is two hours east of where i live. if you have ever heard of notre dame or been, angola is about an hour east of there. anyways, we had to leave early, because i had to pick up my gown and attend rehearsal. after rehearsal, we headed to the hotel for some much needed r & r (aka pool time).
on a side note, it was finally nice to actually see trine university in person (i had taken all of my classes online).
saturday:
saturday literally feels like a blur, but it was well worth it. we woke up super early, repacked, checked out of the hotel, and made out way to the university. my parents took lil man so the hubby could drop me off by the door. once i walked in, everything felt surreal. the ceremony started on time, and after all the speakers- jeff saturday from the indianapolis colts and lee greenwood who sang the infamous song God bless the usa- they started calling all of the names.
i was one of the first ten people called. once my name was called, i walked a few feet, was hooded (that purple thing around my neck), shook the president's hand, and was done. wham-bam-thank-you-mam. once everything was finished, i walked outside to my loving hubby, and we left.
since we were so close to ohio- like 20 minutes- i talked my parents into taking lil man, and me and the hubby went on a beer run to grab some yuengling- the hubby's favorite beer. why? eh, it was just something to do. yes and no... it's the hubby's favorite, but for some reason they don't sell it in indiana.
after the beer run, we met my parents in shipshewana, because they were having their mayfest. for those of you who have never heard of shipshewana- it's an amish town. lil man was able to feed a carrot to a horse (which he loved), we watched a tractor pull for about two hours, did some shopping, and ate some amazing amish cooking.
after all the fun was over, guess who had to drive home... uh-huh. but on the flip-side, i was so happy to come home and sleep in my own bed!
sunday:
nada.
yep, i did nothing. i decided to take the day off work, so i could recoup and everything could get back to normal.
