Every month, my friend Brianna over at Endlessy Beloved does a monthly link up about ten favorite things. Every month's topic is different, and unique. I have been participating since I started blogging, because I love her topics... especially this month's (I think I say that every month).
This month's topic is all about what I love about being a blogger. It's a great topic, considering that sometimes we get lost in the hustle and bustle of posts, that we just don't knwo why we are doing this. It's an amazing thing, you know. To be able to write something that can impact some one on a daily basis.
I mean when I started blogging, I never imagained that a hundred tiny wishes would grow to the extent that it has. I mean, I am starting a brand here. Aka Etsy shop. I also never thought that I would even post pictures of my clothes, and that weekly post would actually be my highest viewed post every week. It's crazy.
Anyways...
*For the record, this is not my office. Source.*
No rules. When you’re a blogger, you get to choose when you work, what your schedule is, what you post about, etc, etc. It’s a great thing.
Outlet. My blog is my outlet for my feelings, wants, dreams… basically whatever I want it to be. I love the fact that I can talk about my deepest feelings or share a bb cream review in the same week.
Perks. There are many perks (aka free stuff) that come along with being a blogger; you just have to find the sites that connect bloggers to brands that want their products promoted.
Friendship. I have met so many people through blogging, and a majority of them I interact with on a daily basis. I love this thing about being a blogger.
Courage. Blogging has given me the courage to believe in myself and believe that I can do just about anything. Last week, I had the courage to open my Etsy shop because I felt like I have a great platform for promotion. Btw, I still have a giveaway going on until 12a tonight, if you want to enter for a chance to win a custom wine glass and jewlery item of your choice. You can enter here.
Exploration. Blogging encourages me to explore different sides of me. Style, makeup, cooking, motherhood, design... yep, it's all in there.
Accountability. I love feeling accountable to my readers. I feel like I have a duty to push the envelope and create that content that keeps them coming back.
Creativity. Blogging has also encouraged me to become more creative. I love using Picmonkey to spruce up pictures and I am learning to use Photoshop (after having it for 6 years).
Organization. If your not the organization type of person, being a blogger will definitely instill that quality in you. The plus side... many jobs also like this quality too.
The development of the girl crush. Ok, this one sounds a little in left field, but bear with me. Being a blogger has given me the chance to discover new blogs and fall in love (platonically, of course) with their writers. I mean, who wouldn't want to have Kate do their hair, have a glass of wine with Erin & Eva, raid Shanna and Lauren's closet, shoot shots of fireball whiskey with Whitney, have a snowball fight with Brianna (and DJ), explore NYC with Erin, go to a music festival with Helene, or go to a game (any type of sport would pacify her) with Sarah? Yeah, the possibilities are endless...
What are your favorite things about being a blogger {if you are one}? Head on over to Brianna's blog and tell the world! :)
